The Interim Executive consists of:

  • David Musseau, President

David was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and lived there until moving to St. John’s in 1994 to attend Memorial University.  Shortly after graduating, he began his career with the Federal Government of Canada and worked from one of the best locations in Newfoundland – Water Street, downtown St. John’s.

In 2003 David accepted a transfer to Ottawa and was joined a year later by his partner Ginette Clarke of Blaketown, NL.  They have since married and have made Ottawa home while working to progress their careers.  Presently, David works as a Business Analyst for the Public Service Commission.

David’s aim as President of the Newfoundland Society of Ottawa is to work with the Executive to successfully rebuild the Society and help ensure its longevity.  They hope to achieve this by fostering a network of Newfoundlanders through hosting quality events that appeal to members as well as those who enjoy socializing with Newfoundlanders

  • Jim Crocker, Advisor to the President

  • Lori Nash, Vice President

Lori was born in St. John's and raised in Mt. Pearl.  She lived in Pasadena, NL for 2 years when her father was transferred there for work, so she's had both the East and West coast experiences of living in Newfoundland.

She graduated from O'Donel High School in 1993 and then went on to attend Memorial University graduating with her B.A. in Sociology.  Lori began her career with the Federal Government of Canada in 2001 working in Pleasantville, NL.  In 2004 Lori accepted a transfer to Ottawa and has since made Ottawa her home.  Presently Lori works as a Project Consultant for Service Canada in Gatineau Quebec.

Lori's objective as Vice President of the Newfoundland Society of Ottawa is to work with the new Executive to help re-build the society.  She would like to make the society something Newfoundlander's and friends can count on for great quality events and good times.  Lori believes that the society will be an excellent avenue for Newfoundlander's to meet other Newfoundlanders and make life away from home a little more familiar and just a little more fun.

  • Marilyn Pretty, Treasurer

Marilyn was born and raised in the Grand Falls of Grand Falls-Windsor and graduated from GFA in 1972.

After completing her business course and working in St. John's in the finance sector for a couple of years, she moved back to Grand Falls to work with FBDB, and then a computer business.  Like any Newfoundlanders, she moved to the "mainland" to look for work.  For the past 11 years she has been with the British High Commission in Ottawa.

Her interests are traveling (especially to the East Coast), music, reading, walking and photography.

She joined the Nfld. Society some years ago to get a "little bit of home", meet fellow Newfoundlanders and have fun.  She hopes to build a strong society in Ottawa to share a little of our Island.
