Newfoundland Society of Ottawa 2006 Christmas Dinner and
Dance
December 11, 2006
The Newfoundland Society of Ottawa (NLSO) Executive wishes to
thank all those who contributed to the huge success of the NLSO
2006 Christmas Dinner and Dance. It was an evening filled with
excellent companionship, great food, outstanding music, a packed
dance floor and prizes galore.
The sold out event, held at the Sala San Marco Banquet Hall,
was a grand evening, with several touches of Newfoundland. Each
person attending had his or her own favourite highlight of the
evening - the performance by Fine Vintage (courtesy of Royal
Lepage Realtor Grace Glastonbury), the visit from the Mummers, a
slide show of Newfoundland scenes (thanks to Mark Ledwell for
the compilation), the singing of Ode to Newfoundland, greetings
from Premier Danny Williams and the tiny Newfoundland flags at
every place setting (great idea Tracy).
A special thank you goes out to Pedro Lopez, from the Earl of
Sussex, for his support throughout the year. Also, special kudos
to DJ Brad Wood who was the main reason why several people went
home with sore feet and tired legs.
Yes, there are already plans in the works for a NLSO 2007
Christmas Dinner and Dance. Don't forget to let us know of your
email address changes so that you'll have the opportunity to
partake in next year's scoff and scuff party.
