NLSO News for April 2008

The move from winter to spring has begun.  The NLSO has held many successful events since the Annual General Meeting in September, and as we move into the final two months before the beginning of the summer months, we hope that you join us in welcoming the beginning of green grass (hopefully), tulips and the warm sunshine.   

As you are no doubt beginning to plan your summer vacations to Newfoundland and other exotic destinations, we hope to hear all about it during our upcoming events: 

Event: Monthly Happy Hour
Date: Thursday, April 17 from 5-7pm
Where: Earl of Sussex Pub (Sussex at Murray)
Special:  Fish & Chips and a pint for $15. 

NLSO members receive a 15% discount off regular food menu items. 

Event: Member Appreciation Breakfast

Date: Saturday, April 26th from 9:30 to 11:30am
Where: Montgomery Street Legion, 330 Kent St

As a token of appreciation, the NLSO Executive is hosting a free continental breakfast for its paid members.  This is our way of thanking you for your continued support which has made it possible for the Society to hold events throughout the 07/08 season.  Members who do not have a NLSO membership are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.  Please RSVP through tickets@newfoundlandsocietyofottawa.com no later than Wednesday, April 23rd. 

Paddy's Day Primer

The 2nd annual St. Paddy’s Day Primer was again a success this year.  Thank you to all of you for attending and a big thanks to all those who helped with the organization and planning.
